Hi, I'm Claudine.
Licensed Realtor in Maryland and Florida | Military spouse for 20+ years
I'm a Realtor licensed in Maryland and Florida with Sivilla Homes of Cummings & Co. Realtors, and I'm based in Frederick County. I've also been a military spouse for more than 20 years, and our family has made several military moves of our own, with homes in Maryland, Massachusetts, Florida, Louisiana, and New York. I know firsthand the stress of packing up your life and moving somewhere you've never lived, usually on a tight timeline.
That's why I started this referral service. The hardest part of a PCS is finding someone you can trust in an unfamiliar place. I do that legwork for you. I personally vet every agent in my network and match each family with the agent who best fits their needs, and then I stay involved until you're settled.

Frequently asked questions
PCS housing questions
When should we start looking for housing after we get PCS orders?
Start as soon as you have orders, or even when you expect them. More lead time means more choices, especially during the busy summer PCS season.
- Contact the installation housing office about on-base availability and any wait list.
- Get matched with a local agent to compare neighborhoods, commute times and rentals.
- If you plan to buy, talk to a lender early about preapproval.
Should we buy or rent at our next duty station?
It depends on your situation. Families often weigh these factors:
- How long you expect to stay, and the chance of future orders.
- Whether you would keep the home as a rental after you move again.
- Local prices and rents compared with your BAH.
- Your savings, credit and VA loan eligibility.
A local agent and a lender can walk you through the numbers for that market.
Can we use a VA loan to buy a home near our new base?
Many service members, veterans and some surviving spouses are eligible for a VA-backed home loan.
- A Certificate of Eligibility (COE) confirms that you qualify.
- Most VA purchase loans do not require a down payment when the price is at or below the appraised value, though lender requirements vary.
- The home must be your primary residence.
- A VA funding fee usually applies unless you are exempt.
Confirm details with VA and your lender.
How is BAH determined?
Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is set by the Department of Defense.
- It is based on your duty station location, your pay grade and whether you have dependents.
- New rates take effect each January 1.
- Rate protection means your rate will not go down while you stay at the same location.
Each base guide on this site links to the official DoD BAH calculator.
Can we buy a home before we arrive?
Yes. Many military families buy from a distance.
- Agents can give live video tours and send detailed photos.
- You can join inspections by video call.
- Many documents can be signed electronically, and remote closings are available in many areas.
- An agent who knows the area can explain commutes and gate access before you choose.
About our free service
Is this really free?
Yes. You never pay for a referral. When a matched agent helps you buy or sell, their brokerage pays a referral fee to mine out of their own commission. It doesn't add anything to your costs.
How do you choose my agent?
I personally vet every agent before they join my network. When you reach out, I match you based on your needs, such as your timeline, budget, whether you're buying or renting, and the neighborhoods you're considering, so you're introduced to the agent who fits your family best.
Am I required to use the agent you recommend?
Not at all. If the fit isn't right, tell me and I'll introduce someone else. You're always free to work with whomever you choose.
What if we're renting, not buying?
Reach out anyway. Many agents help with rentals, and I can point you toward good options near your new base.
Can you help with the home we're leaving?
Yes. Whether you want to sell or keep it as a rental, I'll connect you with an agent there, or I can help you directly if your home is in Maryland or Florida.
How long will it take to be connected with a local real estate specialist?
You'll be introduced to your specialist within 24 to 48 hours after our initial consultation. I use that time to interview several specialists in your destination so I can introduce the one who best fits your family, your timeline, and your budget.
Can you connect me with an agent anywhere in the US?
Yes. The base guides on this site focus on the East Coast and Louisiana, but I can connect you with a vetted real estate specialist anywhere in the United States, wherever your orders take you.
How soon should we reach out?
As soon as you have orders, or even when you expect them. More lead time means more choices, especially during the busy summer PCS season.
